If so, you need to come up with a hypothesis and perform the experiments with the goal of testing your hypothesis. Some properties of Airheads is that they grow brittle when they freeze and can be cracked; they contain tiny air bubbles; they contain artificial colors; and they contain citric acid so you might be able to use them in the Acid Test. See if this gives you any ideas for a project.

You can find more guidelines here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/science-fair

Please cite www.candyexperiments.com on your project, and let me know how it goes. It doesn't work with conversation hearts, because that logo is stamped right into the candy. If the Smarties have a logo printed on them in glaze, it might work, but I don't think I've seen any like that.Loraleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01800100162841966432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814908620667631015.post-62620208312979808982016-09-08T15:17:26.456-07:002016-09-08T15:17:26.456-07:00When my daughter was little, she wanted to put can...When my daughter was little, she wanted to put candy in water to see what happened, so we did it with lots of kinds of candy. We were really surprised to see this one! That's when we learned that most candies are covered with a waxy glaze or shellac to keep them from absorbing water or dissolving or getting sticky. If there's a letter printed on the shellac, it can float. So much to learn about candy!Loraleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01800100162841966432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1814908620667631015.post-64295511502480749522016-09-08T10:51:13.631-07:002016-09-08T10:51:13.631-07:00This is a very cool experiment.
